Job summary

Maximus seeks a Senior Director, Capture, in a remote role within the Defense Market, reporting to the VP of Business Development. The role offers high-visibility briefings to senior leadership and requires expert leadership, strategy, and collaboration across proposal teams.

Responsibilities include leading capture, shaping responses, and developing differentiators and pricing strategies for complex opportunities. Strong collaboration with BD and operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• 12 years of relevant professional experience required.
• 15+ years preferred.
• Experience across the Air Force and Space Force Military Departments and CYBERCOM with technical operations, sales, proposals and capture management.
• Experience with project management, systems or business analysis, technical solution architecture, operations/sales/capture management, and go-to-market strategy.
• Must be able to travel 25% within the United States.
• Experience managing matrixed small and large teams.
• Former Sales, Proposal and Capture experience is a must.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Sound judgment in decision-making.
• Effective written and verbal communication; capable public speaking.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and be a self-starter.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop capture strategies in collaboration with business development and operations leads.
• Lead and drive planning and capture activities 6+ months before RFP release.
• Support short-term captures aligned with market goals.
• Provide data-driven insights to shape opportunities and competitive positioning.
• Design and deploy value propositions and differentiators for bids.
• Contribute to pricing strategy discussions with data-driven input.
• Analyze competitors and close gaps via teaming or hiring.
• Develop small-business and partnership strategies and coordinate teaming.
• Coordinate inputs with proposal developers for compliant, top-quality proposals.
