About Lydian Energy

Lydian is an established energy development company specializing in the development and construction of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in North America. Lydian owns 14 assets in development, construction or under operation, consisting of both solar and storage, which reached or are expected to reach FNTP from 2024-2028.

Lydian is backed by Excelsior Energy Capital (“EEC”), a leading private equity fund manager with more than $1.5B in assets under management, that is exclusively focused on north American middle market renewables investing. Lydian’s relationship with EEC provides several critical advantages, including access to (i) a specialized team of value-add investor-operators with decades of renewables development, construction, and transaction experience and (ii) committed discretionary equity capital, strong relationships with debt and tax equity investors, and deep experience structuring tax equity and project financings.

Lydian has built a team of seasoned, passionate energy infrastructure professionals with deep expertise in project development, construction, financing, and M&A. This is an opportunity to join a fully capitalized development platform that is running at full capacity, but still at an early‑enough stage for you to have a real impact on company culture and commercial outcomes.

Job Scope

The Senior Director of Capital Markets will play a leading role in the structuring, execution, and management of project and corporate financings across Lydian's growing U.S. solar and storage portfolio. Reporting to the VP of Capital Markets, this role will be responsible for originating, evaluating, negotiating, and executing a broad range of financing transactions while helping advance the company's capital markets strategy and relationships with key financing partners.

The Senior Director will operate both strategically and hands‑on, supporting capital formation initiatives from early‑stage development through financial close. The role will work closely with Development, M&A, Construction, Asset Management, Accounting, Legal, and Executive teams to ensure projects are structured and financed to maximize value creation.

  • Lead financing negotiations, due diligence, documentation, and closing activities.
  • Develop and maintain senior relationships with banks, tax equity investors, private credit providers, infrastructure investors, and other financing counterparties.
  • Represent Lydian in lender, investor, and industry meetings, conferences, and strategic discussions.
  • Expand and cultivate the company's capital provider network to support future growth.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the Capital Markets and Finance teams.
  • Help establish best practices, transaction processes, and analytical standards across financing

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Support the VP of Capital Markets in capital planning, financing strategy, portfolio optimization, and long‑range capital needs assessment.
  • Provide financing analyses and recommendations to executive leadership to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Assist in preparing materials for financing partners, lenders, investors, and internal investment committees.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in U.S. renewable energy project finance, infrastructure finance, investment banking, private equity, structured finance, or related capital markets roles.
