Job summary

Lydian Energy is seeking an IT Support and Systems Administrator for the DC office to own day-to-day end-user support and Microsoft 365 administration. The role reports to the IT Director and collaborates with the MSP to maintain the DC office tech stack.

Based in Washington, DC, you will manage Intune, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, and AV in conference rooms, while supporting Zero Trust and SOC 2 initiatives and driving Copilot adoption for the online workspace.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of IT support or systems administration experience with hands-on exposure to Microsoft 365 administration (admin center and Entra ID), Microsoft Intune / endpoint management, and/or SharePoint Online.
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, or a related field is helpful but not required; equivalent experience and demonstrated capability will be considered. Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-900, MD-102, SC-900, Endpoint Administrator Associate) are a plus.
  • Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot — device enrollment, compliance and configuration policies, and application deployment for Windows and mobile devices, including remote users.
  • SharePoint Online administration — site and library provisioning, permissions management, metadata and taxonomy, and content migration and governance.
  • Information protection and Zero Trust fundamentals — sensitivity labeling, DLP, and device and identity compliance concepts.
  • Windows and macOS endpoint support fundamentals, strong general troubleshooting including remote support, and networking fundamentals (Wi‑Fi, connectivity, and ISP coordination).
  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for Microsoft 365 Copilot; exposure to the Power Platform and Microsoft Teams Rooms / AV is a plus. Familiarity with IT ticketing / ITSM tools and a habit of clear, thorough documentation.
  • A white‑glove service orientation, ownership through resolution, and the ability to translate easily between non-technical colleagues and a technical MSP and IT team. Experience supporting a distributed workforce, a Copilot or security / compliance rollout, or working alongside an MSP is a strong plus.
  • On‑site in Washington, DC, combining desk‑based administration with hands‑on support; involves sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or setting up IT equipment (up to approximately 25 pounds).
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technology support across Lydian — devices, accounts, access, Microsoft 365 apps, and connectivity — for DC-based and remote staff, in person and remotely.
  • Triage and resolve Tier 1 / Tier 2 issues with responsive, white-glove service, and act as liaison to the MSP: log, track, elevate, and follow tickets through to resolution.
  • Enroll, configure, and manage Windows and mobile devices using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot; maintain compliance and configuration profiles and support application packaging and deployment.
  • Administer the Microsoft 365 admin center and Microsoft Entra ID — users, groups, licensing, password resets, and MFA — plus Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive; monitor service health and keep configuration and documentation accurate.
  • Administer SharePoint Online: site and library provisioning, permissions, metadata, and naming standards, plus ongoing migration, cleanup, hub sites, and per-project knowledge‑source provisioning.
  • Support Lydian's Zero Trust and compliance initiatives — MFA enforcement, device compliance, conditional access, sensitivity labels, and Data Loss Prevention — and assist with SOC 2 access reviews and evidence collection.
  • Help drive Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption: support licensed users, contribute to the Copilot Champions program, and assist with prompts, training, and enablement.
  • Own the technology of the Washington, DC office day to day, including the two conference rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms / AV for hybrid and leadership meetings, and coordinate with the MSP and vendors on local network and connectivity.
  • Manage device inventory, equipment setup, and onboarding / offboarding logistics, including remote provisioning and shipping of devices to distributed staff.
