Job summary

Lyten, a leader in graphene-enabled energy materials, is seeking an experienced data and analytics manager to lead a growing team of Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership to scale Lyten’s data infrastructure across the business.

You will own end-to-end data strategy, including architecture, governance, quality, and security, and design scalable pipelines and a data warehouse with cataloging.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in the data field.
• 2+ years in a management or technical lead role overseeing data teams.
• Proven ability to lead and develop multi-disciplinary data teams.
• Coaching of direct reports to help their career growth and productivity.
• Design scalable data architectures with data modeling, distributed pipelines, and storage tiering.
• Hands‑on experience with data warehousing platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift) and ML within these platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and dashboard tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and orchestration frameworks (Airflow, dbt) and ingestion from SaaS APIs.

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking data and analytics manager to lead and scale our growing data organization. This individual will oversee a cross‑functional team of Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists, driving the strategy, architecture, and execution of Lyten’s data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate is a technically deep, people‑first leader who stays ahead of emerging industry trends and can translate complex data initiatives into measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data strategy including architecture, governance, quality, security, compliance and lifecycle management

• Design and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and warehouse infrastructure, including catalog documentation

• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Finance, Product) to deliver actionable insights

• Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to continuously improve the data ecosystem

• Stay current with AI/ML advancements, LLMs, and emerging data platforms

• Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise tools for broad, secure use across the organization, with a solid understanding of integration points (MCP servers, APIs, webhooks, SSO/auth)

• Establish KPIs for team performance, data quality, and system reliability

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of total experience in the data field (data engineering, analytics, science, or related)

• 2+ years in a management, staff, or technical lead role overseeing data teams

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multi-disciplinary data teams

• Experience with coaching of direct reports to help their career growth and productivity

• Proven ability to design scalable data architectures — data modeling, distributed pipelines, partitioning, and storage tiering — that sustain performance and reliability as data volume, query load, and source complexity grow

• Hands‑on experience with data warehousing platforms (e.g., Databricks , Snowflake, Redshift, or equivalent) and using machine learning, neural networks, and LLM applications within these platforms

• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and dashboard tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.) for data analysis and transformation

• Familiarity with tool and integration ecosystems (ETL/ELT tools, orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or dbt, CI/CD pipelines, batch, streaming, CDC) and ingestion from diverse SaaS APIs

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with Databricks (Genie, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog)

• Familiarity with data mesh or data lakehouse architectural patterns

• Experience with real‑time data streaming, data observability and monitoring processes

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their managed data services

• Experience building ML pipelines in production environments

• Exposure to vector databases and RAG architectures for LLM integration

• Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and SCADA systems and their data outputs

• Familiarity with battery‑specific data domains including cell formation, cycling, electrochemical testing, and BMS data

• Understanding of battery manufacturing process data and associated quality KPIs (electrode coating, cell assembly, electrolyte filling, formation)

Compensations Range:

The expected base salary range for this position is between

$141,100.00 - $211,700.00

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job‑related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

We generally do not negotiate on salary once we have made an offer. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job‑related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company‑specific knowledge.

In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
