Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Director of Technical Program Management (AI/ML) to lead enterprise AI/ML platforms, balancing research with production-grade systems at scale.

You will work with researchers, engineers, and business leaders to translate AI initiatives into reliable, real-time experiences across credit card, retail banking, and auto finance lines. You will set TPM governance, drive executive updates, and mentor leaders while shaping investments and architectural choices for long-term

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• At least 9 years of experience managing technical programs.
• 9+ years building distributed systems and highly available services.
• 3+ years AI/ML development lifecycle in a business-critical setting.
• 5+ years leading engineering or TPM teams or impacting multiple organizations as an IC.
• Experience building systems in a highly regulated environment.
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Industry impact through papers, talks, or open source contributions.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end strategic roadmap for enterprise AI/ML platforms.
• Own executive communications on delivery status and architectural decisions.
• Establish and scale TPM governance, OKR-based performance models.
• Influence investment prioritization for long-term agility, resilience and cost efficiency.
• Mentor and develop TPM leaders to foster high-performance delivery.
