Job summary

JPMorganChase in Columbus, OH seeks a Senior Director of Software Engineering within Engineering Services & Platforms in the CTO. You will lead multiple technical areas, manage departments, and drive adoption of modern methods across teams to maintain industry leadership.

You will tackle a greenfield Software Dependency Risk platform, enabling 60,000 developers to monitor 6,000+ applications’ health, security, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items.
• Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models.
• Deep understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resiliency/security expectations at scale.
• Proven track record of shipping Version 1 products.
• Genuine enthusiasm for and practical experience with AI-first development practices.
• Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists.
• Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed organizations and delivering value at scale.
• Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Extensive practical cloud native experience - AWS

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the engineering team for Dependency Explorer end-to-end.
• Own the engineering organization for Dependency Explorer, hiring and scaling as needed.
• Lead and grow a team of engineers and engineering managers; partner with product managers and designers across US and UK.
• Drive the platform roadmap: data ingestion pipelines, dependency graph modeling, developer surfaces.
• Make architectural decisions on a modern AWS and Java stack; scale across thousands of applications.
• Set strategy for agentic AI-enabled engineering and governance, measurement, and secure handling of data.
• Embed AI tools (including Claude) into how the team designs, codes, reviews, and ships.
• Lead with influence across the organization, representing engineering in cross-functional discussions with security, risk, and platform partners.
