The Hartford invites applications for a Senior Director & Actuary role within the Middle & Large Business team, focusing on General Liability, Umbrella, and Excess pricing. You will lead an actuarial group and partner with Finance, Claims, Product, and Modeling to deliver enterprise insights.

Responsibilities include line-of-business level loss ratio planning, trend analyses, and timely Health of the Line reports, using predictive models to inform underwriting decisions.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of actuarial experience with a proven record of success.
• FCAS preferred but not required.
• Management experience preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with liability lines (GL, Umbrella, and Excess) or other long tail casualty preferred.
• Innovative and collaborative problem solver with independent work style.
• Proactive and able to drive processes to a conclusion with deadlines.
• Strong technical and data skills; proficient with Excel and coding in R/Python/SQL.

Responsabilidades

• As a key leader on the GL LOB team, manage an actuarial team responsible for core line of business level actuarial support for General Liability, Umbrella, and Excess across a number of business segments.
• Support and drive execution for the GL Health of the Line report out with senior leaders.
• Own line of business level analyses (trend, base year, etc.) to hit critical Loss Ratio Planning timelines.
• Deliver timely and insightful analysis of loss cost trends impacting GL – leveraging analysis grounded in predictive models to enable underwriting action.
• Drive advancement of analytics and insights to support the Umbrella and Excess products.
