Job summary

The Hartford is seeking an AD & Associate Actuary to join the Global Specialty US Actuarial pricing team. The role supports Private Company Management Liability within Financial Lines and works closely with Underwriting, Finance, Claims and IT.

Responsibilities include pricing development, monitoring and profitability studies, plus semi-annual reserve work. Hybrid work in Hartford, with possible office days Tue–Thu.

Qualifications

• ACAS or near-ACAS preferred.
• Minimum 4+ years of Property and Casualty actuarial experience.
• Knowledge of actuarial pricing and reserving techniques.
• Strong technical/analytical skills; proficient in Excel and experience with R/SQL.
• Excellent written and oral communication; able to collaborate across teams.
• Hybrid work schedule with offices in Hartford, Chicago, and Charlotte; in-office Tue–Thu.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain actuarial pricing methodologies and tools for Financial Lines.
• Assist in rate development, price monitoring, loss ratio planning and profitability studies.
• Support semi-annual reserve studies and pricing accuracy across units.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Finance, Claims and IT to guide strategy.
• Present analyses and recommendations to business partners.
