The Hartford is seeking a Sr. Director & Actuary to lead the Homeowners rate adequacy effort within Personal Insurance. You will partner across PI teams and enterprise analytics, guiding modeling and pricing strategies and driving technical excellence.

Ideal candidates bring FCAS or equivalent, 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with R/SQL. Hybrid work options are available in Hartford, CT and other hubs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or actuarial science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of property and casualty actuarial experience.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with R/SQL preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead a team that analyzes Homeowners rate adequacy with clear visibility into key assumptions.
• Collaborate on key rate assumptions across areas to ensure coherence.
• Develop innovative actuarial processes using data science techniques.
• Partner with modeling group to prioritize new initiatives and communicate results.
• Build analytics tools using R and Shiny and leverage new data assets.
• Identify risk relationships and provide actionable pricing insights.
• Present results to Actuarial, Reserving, Claims and Product leadership.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
