Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) seeks a Senior Engineer to serve as a Team & Capture Lead for our Directed Energy Team in Albuquerque, NM. The role blends technical leadership with business development and program management.

You will guide design, fabrication and testing of advanced directed energy systems for national security applications, coordinating with defense customers and proposals. Ideal candidates will have a strong hardware engineering background, MS or Meng in optical

Qualifications

• MS or Meng in optical engineering, physics or related field.
• Strong system engineering hardware background.
• Ability to lead teams, programs and business areas.
• Ability to handle technical project planning & monthly reporting including financials.
• Team player with excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Directed Energy Team & Capture efforts for HEL, HPM and related technologies.
• Oversee integration and testing of directed energy systems.
• Develop technology demonstrations and field-testing campaigns.
• Support proposals, business development, and program capture for defense customers.
