Leidos in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the development, fabrication, integration, testing, and deployment of innovative hardware for Department of Defense customers.

The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team in a research and development environment focused on high‑power microwave, RF, and pulsed‑power systems. Responsibilities include leading designs from concept to testing and collaborating with machinists and vendors.

Qualifications

BSME with 8+ years of relevant experience or MSME with 6+ years of relevant experience.
U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
Experience developing mechanical hardware from concept through design, fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing.
Proficiency with SolidWorks including 3D modeling and detailed drawings, experience with PDMWorks.

Responsibilities

Create 3D solid models and detailed mechanical designs from requirements through fabrication and testing.
Perform engineering analysis to support design decisions and verify performance.
Create and maintain engineering drawings with tolerances and manufacturing requirements.
Design hardware for manufacturability, material selection, machining, welding, and assembly.
Collaborate with machinists, fabricators, vendors, and engineers to develop hardware.
