Job summary

Ciena in Rochester, NY seeks an expert digital verification engineer to join the Wavelogic team. You will verify digital blocks, cores, and subsystems with simulation, formal methods, and coverage-driven approaches, collaborating with design and systems engineers.

You will also mentor teammates, estimate schedules, and contribute to architectural reviews to improve verification coverage and schedule reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with expert SystemVerilog/UVM/SVA experience.
• Proven ability to design comprehensive digital verification and coverage strategies.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently while being a strong teammate.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand architecture and requirements to communicate with systems engineers and architects.
• Validate entire subsystems using simulation, formal, and coverage methods.
• Create, review, and optimize simulation environments, test scenarios, and coverage/test plans.
• Lead focused groups or mentor individuals and manage priorities toward objectives.
• Estimate schedules and track progress with clear status updates.
• As an ASIC Verification Prime, oversee verification of the Serdes and coordinate with partner teams.
• Participate in architectural and design reviews to advise on verification impacts.
