Job summary

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex digital initiatives from strategy through delivery. You will guide cross-functional teams across UX, content, engineering, and platform implementation.

You will serve as the primary client contact, translate business goals into structured plans, and ensure delivery of CMS-based builds like Drupal and WordPress with rigorous QA and stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing digital projects in an agency or fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of web platforms, CMS architectures, APIs, integrations, and development workflows.
• Hands-on experience managing Drupal or WordPress implementations, migrations, or enhancements.
• Ability to anticipate risks, evaluate tradeoffs, and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams including UX, engineering, strategy, QA, and content specialists.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
• Ability to coordinate project resources, staffing requirements, and team capacity.
• A results-focused approach emphasizing outcomes, efficiency, and high-quality delivery.
• Interest in improving internal project management processes and cross-team coordination.
• Willingness to support pre-sales and proposal development activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of large-scale digital initiatives across UX, content, engineering, and platform implementation
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and workstreams while balancing priorities and maintaining consistent delivery
• Serve as the primary client point of contact and guide discussions around risks, priorities, and delivery options
• Translate business goals and requirements into structured project plans, roadmaps, and decision frameworks
• Partner with technical leads to interpret requirements and ensure technical work is planned and executed effectively
• Manage CMS-based implementations including Drupal and WordPress builds, configuration planning, and content migration workflows
• Oversee QA processes including test planning, acceptance criteria, issue triage, and release readiness
• Facilitate internal and client meetings such as sprint planning sessions, kickoffs, reviews, and stakeholder alignment workshops
• Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, delivery workflows, and operational processes
• Support resource planning by assembling and adjusting project teams based on project requirements and team capacity
• Assist in identifying and recruiting contractors or specialists when specific expertise is required
• Maintain organized project documentation across tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Google Workspace
• Support proposal development and pre-sales activities including project scopes, timelines, and delivery models
• Contribute to strengthening project management practices through improved processes and delivery standards
