Job summary

Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center seeks a Temporary Digital Navigator in San Francisco to help seniors access affordable home internet, devices, and digital skills. The role emphasizes in-person classes, with supplementary online support, under the Senior Program Supervisor.

It is a temporary, full-time position through June 30, 2026, with a salary of $28.00 per hour. The navigator will assess needs, develop personalized plans, and connect clients to resources while tracking progress and

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience working with seniors and disabled adults preferred.
• One year of outreach, engagement, community work preferred.
• Able to learn and utilize Slack, Asana, Salesforce and similar tools to communicate and track client interactions.
• Ability to teach basic digital literacy concepts to older adults and individuals with limited comfort with technology.

Responsibilities

• Assess each client to determine training and resource needs for internet access, devices, and home use of technology.
• Create a digital program plan with training, resource connections, and internet use priorities.
• Create a digital Individual Service Plan in coordination with the client.
• Disseminate information on affordable home internet service options and assist clients in applying for services.
• Coach clients to use home internet services in person, by phone, or online, including referrals for additional training.
• Advise clients about sources for ongoing technology use and support.
• Provide timely follow-up for referrals and track progress; keep records up to date.
• Represent BHNC as an advocate for digital equity and inclusion policies and programs.
• Create monthly narratives with summaries for funding reports.
• Plan and manage assistance to meet agreed goals.
• Conduct group and individual workshops in person and on Zoom.
• Other tasks as necessary.
