Job summary

Reliance Matrix is seeking a senior technologist to guide a complex portfolio of digital capabilities across web, mobile, portals, and APIs. You will shape long-term roadmaps, influence executive decisions, and lead architectures and delivery without formal people-management authority.

In this role you will collaborate with Product, security, and operations to align technical approaches, tackle high-risk solutions, and mentor engineers while maintaining production health and governance for

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Typically 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, digital product development, or technology delivery.
Expert-level knowledge of modern software engineering and digital delivery, including web/app architecture, APIs, cloud services, secure development, DevOps/CI/CD, automated testing, observability, reliability, and AI-enabled delivery practices.
Ability to design, validate, and troubleshoot highly complex customer-facing digital solutions and solve enterprise-impact problems.
Experience providing technical or delivery direction across architects, leads, matrixed teams, and external partners through influence.
Ability to evaluate complex information and make high-impact decisions in ambiguous situations.
Experience influencing major technology investments, modernization roadmaps, and vendor strategies.
Strong executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as the senior technical and delivery authority for the digital portfolio and shape long-term engineering direction.
Translate business direction into delivery roadmaps and measurable engineering outcomes in partnership with Product.
Design, review, and validate the most complex digital solutions and troubleshoot critical cross-platform problems.
Solve novel technical problems and convert successful approaches into reusable guidance.
Provide technical direction across architects, leads, matrixed contributors, and vendor teams via influence.
Evaluate platform, vendor, sourcing, and investment options and advise senior leaders.
Shape engineering practices for secure development, Agile delivery, testing, automation, and observability.
Set direction for responsible AI-assisted engineering and ensure governance and value.
Collaborate with Product, architecture, security, and operations to align technical approaches.
Advise on partner/vendor strategy, SOWs, and performance; identify gaps and actions.
