Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Automation Engineer to push the boundaries of intelligent automation. In this hybrid role, you'll develop scalable software, APIs, and reusable automation components, while partnering with Digital Technology and our India team to deliver enterprise solutions.

You will mentor colleagues, define engineering practices, and help translate designs into production-ready code. The role requires deep DevOps experience, strong programming skills, and a passion for solving

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of related experience or a related advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Strong software development and programming skills.
• Experience with APIs, system integrations, and troubleshooting.
• DevOps practices, source control, testing and deployment automation.
• Ability to assess technical designs and solve complex engineering problems.
• Mentor colleagues on engineering practices and production readiness.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, C#, JS/TS, PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Engineer scalable, reliable, production-ready intelligent automation solutions.
• Bridge proofs of concept and MVPs with enterprise implementation.
• Provide technical mentorship to colleagues and stakeholders
• Partner with the India Automation Development team and other Digital Technology SMEs to enable consistent delivery.
• Software engineering: Develop maintainable code, APIs, integrations and reusable automation components.
• DevOps & reliability: Support CI/CD, testing, deployment, monitoring, logging and error handling.
• Technical mentorship: Coach colleagues on engineering practices and production readiness.
• Development team collaboration: Align with the India team on technical requirements, solution design, code reviews, handoffs and troubleshooting.
• Intelligent automation: Integrate RPA, workflow orchestration, AI services and data capabilities.
• Enterprise knowledge: Learn and document system dependencies, technical constraints, integration patterns and operational procedures.
• Documentation governance: Provide ownership of documentation lifecycle with architects.
• Continuous improvement: Establish standards, reduce technical debt and improve reuse and delivery efficiency.
