Job summary

William Penn Care Center is seeking a skilled Lead Cook to supervise the daily kitchen operations, oversee meal preparation, purchasing, cost control and sanitation, and train staff to meet community standards.

You will ensure all meals are prepared and presented to residents with care, while coordinating with the Food Director and nursing staff to maintain quality service and compliance in a compassionate senior living setting.

Qualifications

• Requires a High school Diploma or GED.
• Culinary training preferred.
• 3-5 years’ lead cook experience in hospitality or health care preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guidelines, cleaning schedules and logs.
• Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking and service.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant-style dining atmosphere.
• Work closely with Administrator and Charge Nurses to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
• Coach, train and develop kitchen staff.
• Maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas in a clean, safe and sanitary condition.
• Ensure that all food is received, stored and prepared according to the community standards.
• Oversees daily operations of the kitchen helping maintain high standards for food preparation and service.
