Job summary

Sullivan Park Senior Living is hiring a dietary cook to maintain a safe, sanitary kitchen and prepare meals for residents. You will follow menus, manage portions, and assist with serving while supporting cooperative work across departments.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience, and a ServSafe certificate, with opportunities to train dietary staff and implement quality food safety practices.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year.
• Must obtain ServSafe Certificate.
• Ability to read recipes and follow technical procedures.
• Ability to supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals and follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Record food temperatures for meals and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Cooperate with personnel in all departments and assist with serving meals.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
• Supervise and train dietary staff in the absence of the supervisor.
• Keep cleaning schedules and sanitation practices up to date.
• Maintain sanitation buckets and safe handling of quaternary solutions.
