Job summary

Mechanics Hub in Kapolei, HI is seeking an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair a diverse fleet of trucks and trailers. You will perform preventive maintenance and tackle engines, transmissions, differentials, and fuel systems with minimal supervision.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of hands-on repair experience, welding and diagnostic tool proficiency, strong mechanical troubleshooting, and good communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on truck and tractor-trailer maintenance experience.
  • Experience using welding equipment, diagnostic tools, and standard hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet DOT driver qualification requirements, including physical examinations and driving record checks.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting, communication, customer service, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel locally to customer yards and training sites as needed.
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled environments, varying weather conditions, and safely at heights.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs, and push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs.
  • Must pass background and drug screenings and meet applicable DOT requirements.
  • Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent vocational or technical certification; OEM training or ASE certifications; CDL certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, and other major components.
  • Conduct road tests and use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
  • Use computerized maintenance systems and shop technology to research, document, and complete repairs.
  • Mentor fellow technicians while continuing to develop skills through technical training.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
