Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Honolulu, HI is seeking an experienced Technician I to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our diverse fleet. You will be a lead-like technician, mentoring others, and using Penske’s tools to diagnose and complete repairs while working independently.

The role requires a Certified or Registered Mechanic status (or grandfathered) and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous training through Penske's certification programs.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical maintenance experience on trucks and trailers.
• HS diploma or equivalent; ASE state certifications preferred.
• Must obtain ASE certification within 90 days of start.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Certified or Registered Mechanic (grandfather clause) per Hawaii law.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles to keep customers safe.
• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers timely.
• Repair major components (engines, transmissions, differentials).
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Use Penske tools to log, research and diagnose repairs.
• Learn new skills through Penske training.
• Take on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
