Job summary
Hub Group is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician in the United States to diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, and related systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, road tests, and ensure DOT compliance while mentoring junior technicians and documenting repairs.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years’ tractor-trailer maintenance experience, strong knowledge of diagnostic tools, welding (MIG/TIG), and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced
Qualifications
- 4 years practical experience with tractor-trailer maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
- Demonstrated customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Strong understanding of fleet maintenance policies and DOT standards.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and welding tools.
Responsibilities
- Comply with safety SOPs and company procedures.
- Repair and diagnose diesel engines, powertrain, electrical, HVAC, steering and brake systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers.
- Recondition equipment for trade-ins and prepare new units for delivery.
- Mentor other technicians and document repairs.
- Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
- Ensure DOT compliance and proper work order documentation.
- Utilize diagnostic software and hand/power tools efficiently.
