Job summary

HOLT Truck Centers is seeking a Level 3 Diesel Technician in San Antonio to perform complex engine repairs and diagnostics with limited supervision. The role emphasizes safety, quality control, and mentoring junior technicians, using advanced diagnostic tools and software.

The candidate should have 4+ years of experience, complete Level 1–3 curriculum, and demonstrate HOLT's Values Based Leadership in daily work. Onsite position with CDL and travel up to 5% may be involved.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or trade school equivalent.
• Minimum four years of experience in diesel tech or related field.
• Completion of Levels 1–3 curriculum pathway requirements as outlined in the Leveling Description Guide.
• Must meet ProTech training requirements and model HOLT's VBL Culture.
• Ongoing safety training.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair engines and related equipment with minimal supervision.
• Disassemble and inspect components, determine parts required, and reassemble to factory specs.
• Provide quality control inspections, including road testing when needed.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and software to diagnose engine issues.
• Document service reports, timecards, and parts usage accurately.
• Communicate progress to supervisor and customers as needed.
• Mentor and coach junior technicians.
