Job summary

Hub Group is seeking a Fleet Technician 3 in Memphis, TN to diagnose, repair and maintain class 8 trucks and trailing equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes and aftertreatment systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, tire service, and road test vehicles to verify repairs, while ensuring DOT compliance and safe operation.

Qualifications

• 4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational/Technical certification preferred.
• Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills.
• Expert understanding of fleet maintenance policies, DOT standards and industry practices.
• Organized with the ability to deal with multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses required (FRTL or INTL), ASE Certification preferred, and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools) required.
• Clean MVR required and able to operate service truck preferred.
• Strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and written, and can read and understand English.
• Demonstrated ability to recommend continuous improvement ideas and actions.
• Results orientated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with computers.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required.
• Willingness to travel for training.
• Must have own tools (hand and pneumatic) sufficient to do any job that is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, adjust and repair class 8 tractor and trailing fleet equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and tire repairs as needed.
• Maintain safety and SOP compliance.
• Mentor other technicians and provide repair instructions.
• Enter and process maintenance transactions in the system.
