Penske is seeking an experienced Technician I in Romeoville, IL to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll lead as a master technician, mentor others, and work independently on major and minor repairs with guidance from your manager.

Qualifications

• 6 years of truck and tractor-trailer maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification preferred.
• ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Experience diagnosing/troubleshooting engines, transmissions, differentials.
• Experience with welding equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Willing to travel within district; DOT/OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks/trailers with minimal supervision.
• Repair and troubleshoot major components (engines, transmissions, differentials).
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log and complete repairs, including diagnostics.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
