Job summary

Penske is seeking a Technician in Romeoville, IL to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You will work with modern equipment, log repairs, and learn our certification program while growing your career.

Qualified applicants have 1–2 years of automotive repair experience, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to learn, with strong safety and teamwork focus. Competitive pay and benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical cert preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Team player; able to work outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must follow Penske safety policies and DOT/OSHA rules.
• DOT driving requirements and background checks may be required.
• Willingness to travel for training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles and ensure safety for customers.
• Use Penske tools/tech to log, research, and complete repairs (basic diagnostics).
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs incl. tires, lubrication, electrical and cooling where applicable.
• Learn new skills via technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Work on other projects as assigned by supervisor.
