Job summary

Republic Services in Urbana, IL seeks a Maintenance Lead Technician to direct a team of technicians in maintaining heavy-duty trucks and refuse bodies, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. You’ll diagnose complex issues, coach peers, and план schedule repairs to minimize downtime while upholding company safety standards.

The role requires hands-on expertise with chassis systems, hydraulics, electrical, and HVAC, plus the ability to inspect work and mentor others.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks with OSHA Haz Com/LOTO and fire protection experience is a plus.
• Experience supervising or leading a technician team is a plus.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to a technician group to ensure safe, efficient repairs and maintenance.
• Diagnose complex repair issues and inspect third-party work for safety and compliance.
• Schedule repair work to minimize downtime and mentor junior technicians.
