Placements24 seeks a skilled Commercial Vehicle Technician in Queenstown to service and repair a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, and buses. You will diagnose complex systems, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure fleet safety and reliability in a fast‑paced workshop.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic (NQF Level 3 or 4).
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience on heavy‑duty trucks, buses and trailers.
• Proven ability to diagnose/repair complex mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics to identify mechanical and electrical issues in commercial vehicles.
• Carry out routine maintenance: oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, lubrication.
• Repair/replace components: engines, transmissions, suspensions, electrical systems.
• Service and repair trailers, ensuring safety compliance.
• Use diagnostic tools to accurately identify and fix vehicle problems.
• Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle.
• Ensure work meets manufacturer specs and regulatory standards.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Weld and fabricate as needed for repairs.
• Keep the workshop safe, clean and organized.
