Job summary

US Foods, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a heavy-duty diesel mechanic to provide safe, reliable fleet maintenance. You will diagnose and repair diesel equipment, perform DOT-compliant preventive maintenance, and coordinate with vendors to minimize downtime.

You’ll document work in the fleet software and support teammates as needed. Requirements include at least five years of hands-on experience, tool proficiency, a valid license, and willingness to work nights.

Qualifications

• Five years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel equipment.
• Experience administering preventive maintenance programs.
• Must furnish own hand tools.
• Able to read/write and perform basic math; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates).
• Perform preventative maintenance per DOT standards.
• Receive road calls and coordinate with third-party vendors and partners.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following safety rules and government guidelines.
• Document repairs and parts used in fleet software; backup other shop personnel.
