Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis, refuse bodies, and braking systems. You will diagnose and repair engines, HVAC, electrical, and aftertreatment systems, both on-site and on the road, using a range of electronic tools.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of heavy-truck experience, ASE certifications are a plus, and a CDL is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing multi-system issues and performing complex repairs.
• 5–7 years as a technician on heavy-duty trucks.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL Class B or higher is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs complex repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and braking systems diagnostics and repair.
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Air and hydraulic braking system diagnostics and repair.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems work.
• HVAC diagnostics and repair.
• Aftertreatment systems diagnostics and REGEN.
• Electrical troubleshooting with scan tools.
• Line welding and fabrication.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools.
