Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, air brakes, engines, HVAC, and suspension systems. You will diagnose multi-system issues and perform complex repairs while supporting our fleet with state‑of‑the‑art technology, ensuring reliable service for drivers and communities.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• 5-7 years of experience as a technician on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to perform inspections/repairs in heavy-truck systems: suspensions, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, diesel emissions.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus.
• CDL B or higher is a plus; CDL B preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge and proficiency in chassis, heavy‑duty components, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Performs complex repair/maintenance on on-site and road vehicles.
• Engine repair and diagnostics; diesel fuel systems understanding.
• Drivetrain, suspension, braking, HVAC and aftertreatment system work.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication; diagnosing malfunctions with toolsets.
• Completes company training programs and supports safety initiatives.
