Interstate Waste Services is seeking a Level B Fleet Mechanic/Technician to diagnose and repair diesel and heavy equipment, ensuring DOT compliance and high uptime. You will mentor Level C technicians, support road calls, and coordinate towing when needed.

The role requires strong electrical, hydraulic and diagnostic skills, with experience in refuse/urban fleets and ASE certifications preferred. CDL-B is strongly favored, with a focus on safe, efficient fleet maintenance across the NYC

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5+ years in diesel/heavy equipment diagnostics and major component replacement.
• Valid CDL Class B with air brake endorsement preferred for road tests.
• Proficient with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Experience in refuse/urban fleet operations preferred.
• ASE certifications (T or E series) preferred; Master status encouraged.
• Basic welding and cutting skills (MIG, stick, torch) beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines and drivetrain components.
• Perform DOT-compliant inspections and PMs with proper documentation.
• Respond to road calls and perform repairs or coordinate towing as needed.
• Mentor Level C technicians and document work orders with labor and parts.
