Interstate Waste Services is seeking a Level B Fleet Mechanic/Technician to diagnose and repair diesel and heavy equipment across refuse trucks and trailers. You will perform DOT-compliant inspections, interpret service data, and ensure high uptime for our NYC tri-state fleet.

You will mentor Level C technicians, support road calls, and document labor hours and parts used. A CDL-B with air brake endorsement is preferred, and ASE certifications are a plus.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5+ years hands-on experience as a diesel, truck, or heavy equipment mechanic/technician.
• Valid CDL Class B (or higher) with air brake endorsement strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Experience in refuse/solid waste, municipal, or heavy trucking fleets preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, drivetrains, brakes, and hydraulics.
• Perform DOT-compliant inspections and PMs with proper documentation.
• Respond to road calls and perform repairs or coordinate towing.
• Mentor Level C technicians and document work orders thoroughly.
