Job summary

North American Transportation Management Institute is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of commercial vehicles and equipment to maximize safety and reliability. You will diagnose issues, follow manufacturer specs, document work orders, and mentor junior technicians.

The role may include occasional supervisory work when managers are unavailable, with emphasis on electrical and refrigeration system repairs and adherence

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current and valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Conduct annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, steering, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair to manufacturer specifications.
• Document all work on work orders.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I & II; assist Fleet Manager when needed.
