Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a DFM engineer to provide design verification for products in a high-volume production environment and optimize newer products introduced at Samsung Austin Semiconductor.

You will collaborate with internal and customer design teams, lead design risk assessments, and develop automation scripts to improve margins and performance. This role requires strong EDA experience and scripting skills, and is an on-site, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with design verification experience.
• Experience with Cadence Virtuoso or other EDA tools (Calibre, Yield Explorer, StarRC/xRC, ICC2 & TCAD).
• Knowledge of design-to-mask workflow (schematic, simulation, layout, GDSII, mask).
• Experience with 300mm 16nm/14nm/10nm wafer manufacturing preferred.
• Strong scripting in tcl, bash, or python.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and customer design teams to develop device offerings, pcell and standard cell libraries.
• Lead projects on design risk assessment for new product introductions and yield improvement.
• Use EDA software to analyze and design including extracting netlists, timing analysis, redundancy checks; guide fabrication team on margin improvements.
• Lead or participate in devising solutions to fix future design vulnerabilities.
• Write SVRF/tcl code for design risk assessment.
• Develop methodology and automation scripts using bash-shell, python, tcl.
• Communicate technical information to senior leadership outside of the department through presentations.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
