Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an engineer or data scientist to join a team focused on establishing and maintaining world-class inspection and measurement equipment. The role emphasizes yield enhancement, complex problem solving, and data-driven decision making.

You will analyze FDC trends, monitor fabrication equipment, qualify new tools, and drive process improvements while communicating findings and updating SOPs.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field.
• 2+ years semiconductor experience (Metrology equipment preferred).
• Experience troubleshooting equipment or process failures.
• Exposure to structured problem solving (8D, 7-step).
• Understanding of statistical methods.
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage FDC trend analysis for the department using statistics and data science.
• Monitor wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues.
• Qualify new manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinate equipment qualifications and downtime with manufacturing.
• Analyze data to identify trends and inform processing decisions.
• Adjust parameters when needed and monitor tools after maintenance.
• Implement in-line changes to processes or equipment.
• Communicate technical info through presentations and SOP updates.
• Develop improved processes to increase capability.
• Monitor operations costs and drive cost-reduction projects.
