Job summary
Austal USA Advanced Technologies in Charlottesville, VA, seeks a DFAM Engineer IV to lead design for additive manufacturing initiatives. Qualifications
- Degree in engineering required; 8+ years in DfAM engineering/design.
- Mastery of 3D CAD software; familiarity with simulation/optimization tools preferred.
- Experience with polymer and metal additive manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, written and oral communication, and schedule discipline.
Responsibilities
- Provide Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) expertise for projects.
- Deliver in-depth engineering support for the additive manufacturing process.
- Design products for additive manufacturing with focus on performance, quality, reliability, cost.
- Partner with manufacturing to identify Additive Manufacturing opportunities.
- Mentor junior engineers and support proposal development for production and R&D.
