Alexander Daniels Global is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to transform innovative product designs into production-ready metal parts using advanced AM technologies. You will develop and optimize toolpaths, establish design rules, and create manufacturing strategies across multi-disciplinary teams.
Qualified candidates have a STEM degree and at least three years in manufacturing engineering, with experience in DfAM, ISO 9001/AS9100, Python, and CAD/CAM.
POSITION SNAPSHOT: The Additive Manufacturing Engineer role with our client is a highly technical engineering position focused on transforming innovative product designs into high-quality manufactured components using advanced metal additive manufacturing technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing toolpaths, creating additive manufacturing strategies, and ensuring designs are effectively translated into production-ready parts. Working closely with production and technology development teams, the engineer will identify and resolve manufacturing challenges, drive continuous design improvements, and help transition complex, low-volume components from traditional manufacturing methods to advanced additive manufacturing processes. The position requires a creative and solutions-oriented individual capable of leveraging the advantages of additive manufacturing while addressing its technical limitations.
This role demands a strong foundation in engineering design, manufacturing, materials, and advanced production technologies. Key responsibilities include developing metal AM manufacturing methodologies, creating engineering drawings, establishing design rules and process limitations, and supporting the evolution of new manufacturing techniques, materials, and processes. The engineer will utilize CAD/CAM tools, validate and interpret FEA and CFD models, analyze manufacturing data, and apply root cause analysis methodologies to improve product quality and process efficiency. The position also emphasizes collaboration and knowledge sharing, requiring the individual to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams while contributing to continuous learning and best-practice development within the organization.
Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Design, or a related discipline, along with at least three years of experience in manufacturing or production-focused engineering environments. Strong expertise in additive manufacturing technologies, 3D printing equipment, CAD/CAM software, and data-driven engineering analysis is essential.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), metal AM technologies, quality management standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100, engineering change control processes, Python programming, and BS8888 standards. The ideal candidate combines technical excellence with strong communication, project management, analytical thinking, and practical problem-solving skills. In return, our client offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge large-format metal additive manufacturing technologies in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment that encourages curiosity, excellence, fearlessness, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Candidates must be US Citizens and relocation assistance may be considered.
