Job summary

Leidos seeks a Senior DevSecOps Platform Engineer to lead secure software delivery for FAA-aligned flight services. You will own GitLab administration, CI/CD architecture, and deployment automation, partnering with Cloud Systems Owners and engineers to enable scalable, compliant cloud-native platforms.

Role emphasizes automating security, IaC, and software supply chain controls, with collaboration across cybersecurity, product owners, and solution architects. Applicants must be U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with relevant experience.
• Extensive CI/CD platform design, implementation, and administration.
• Advanced GitLab CI/CD pipelines, runners, templates, variables, artifacts, deployment workflows.
• GitLab repositories, merge requests, branching, permissions, governance.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar.
• Docker/Kubernetes deployment with Helm, GitOps, or similar tools.
• Automation scripting with Bash, Python, or equivalent.
• Experience in Linux environments for CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native deployments.
• Knowledge of software supply chain security and automated testing in CI/CD.
• Leadership in technical initiatives, mentoring, and standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills.
• Ability to obtain SF-85 Public Trust; US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead GitLab platform engineering, projects, groups, runners, repos, permissions, health.
• Establish enterprise CI/CD standards with templates, libraries, automation, and deployment workflows.
• Improve security across CI/CD with SAST, SCA, container image scanning, and IaC scanning.
• Develop Kubernetes deployment patterns using GitOps, Helm, and automated validation.
• Administer GitLab Container Registry and artifact repositories.
• Collaborate with Cloud Systems Owners to ensure scalable, automated deployments.
• Improve build performance, reliability, and deployment quality via automation.
• Align DevSecOps with security policies and Federal guidance.
• Lead troubleshooting for build failures, deployments, and pipeline issues.
• Review designs and provide guidance to maintain standards across teams.
• Define and monitor delivery metrics and governance documentation.
• Mentor engineers and drive adoption of best practices in GitLab and automation.
• Evaluate emerging DevSecOps tech and AI-assisted tooling.
