Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Maryland seeks a DevSecOps Engineer to support the Infrastructure and Capabilities teams.

You will build and maintain an integrated DevSecOps environment for dynamic course delivery, configuring, testing, and deploying tools and services across the program. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of software development, expertise in Ruby, Rails, Python, C++, and JS/TS, plus experience with Kubernetes, IaC, and secure CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in Ruby, Rails, Python, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL/MongoDB)
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Web UI design using HTML, CSS, JS/TypeScript
• Windows and Linux platforms knowledge
• TS/SCI with Polygraph

Responsibilities

• Administer and harden on‑premise systems including VMs, storage, and database hosts
• Collaborate with development teams to streamline build and deployment processes
• Communicate complex infrastructure concepts effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences
• Configure supporting services and coordinate access for development teams and end users
• Contribute to documentation and design for new and existing programs
• Continuously improve automation, monitoring, and security toolchains
• Deploy and maintain IaC using tools like Helm
• Deploy, troubleshoot, and analyze systems and services supporting course delivery
• Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines across environments
• Document runbooks, playbooks, and system diagrams for operational consistency
• Implement IAM best practices including secrets management and RBAC
• Integrate security scanning and compliance into CI/CD workflows
• Maintain multiple Kubernetes clusters across environments
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
• Monitor and analyze system/application performance with observability tools
• Perform system modeling, simulation, and analysis for infrastructure planning
• Support incident response and vulnerability management
• Validate products and manage deployments for reliability
• Verify program accuracy with testing and structured processes
