Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Development Engineer, Sr. (DevOps) to design, develop, launch, and support our corporate DevOps pipeline operations.

The role focuses on automating internal software deployment via CI/CD best practices and requires collaboration with multiple software development groups and senior leadership. The incumbent will manage CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker/ECS, and scripting across Windows and Linux environments, delivering on time within budget and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) required.
• 8+ years of work experience managing diverse DevOps operations and tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub), including branching, tagging, merging and release management oversight.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with containerization (Docker or ECS), orchestration, service discovery on Windows and Linux hosts.
• Experience with one or more major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Demonstrated success delivering application deployments in mid-size corporations (2000+ staff).
• Strong scripting skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers and maintains Gitlab and Subversion.
• Architects and delivers DevOps pipeline operations for automated CI/CD.
• Creates and maintains Docker images and containers.
• Identifies and automates manual processes.
• Enhances build infrastructure, deployment, and DevOps processes.
• Works with JIRA and Sharepoint.
• Develops and maintains software installation tools, processes, and packages.
• Creates and maintains DevOps processes and policies.
• Reuses common code bases across projects.
• Delivers work on time according to schedule and budget.
• Mentors stakeholders in a learning environment.
• Tackles complex problems requiring evaluation of intangibles.
• Operates independently to determine methods for new tasks.
