Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Development Engineer, Sr. (DevOps) to lead and optimize our corporate DevOps pipeline operations.

You will automate software deployment via CI/CD, collaborate with multiple software groups, and serve as a subject matter expert with strong communication to stakeholders. You will administer GitLab, Docker images, and cloud deployments, while driving process improvements and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) required or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years managing diverse DevOps operations and tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub), including release oversight.
• Minimum 2 years with containerization (Docker/ECS) and orchestration on Windows and Linux.
• Experience with major cloud providers (Azure, AWS).

Responsibilities

• Administers and maintains GitLab and Subversion.
• Architects and delivers DevOps pipeline operations for automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Creates and maintains Docker images and containers.
• Identifies and automates manual processes.
• Enhances build infrastructure, deployment, and DevOps processes.
• Works with JIRA and SharePoint.
• Develops and maintains software installation tools and deployment packages.
• Creates and updates DevOps processes and policies.
• Reuses common code bases to support multiple programs.
• Delivers work on time per schedule and budget.
• Mentors stakeholders in a learning environment.
• Handles complex issues requiring analysis of intangibles.
• Acts independently to determine methods for new assignments.
