Job summary

Motion Recruitment seeks a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join its Platform and Security Engineering team. You will design, automate, secure, and support cloud infrastructure in a large AWS environment, embedding security across the SDLC.

The ideal candidate is hands-on with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, and security engineering. This role requires independent ownership of initiatives from design to production deployment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in DevSecOps/Platform/SRE roles.
• Advanced hands-on AWS production experience.
• Terraform or OpenTofu for IaC.
• Kubernetes deployment, operation, and security.
• Docker or Podman experience.
• Ansible configuration management/automation.
• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
• Python or Bash scripting.
• Infrastructure security controls (vuln mgmt, secrets, hardening).

Responsibilities

Job Description A leading financial services organization is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join its Platform and Security Engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, securing, automating, and supporting modern cloud infrastructure and platform services within a large-scale AWS environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, and security engineering. You will play a key role in embedding security best practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle while helping build scalable, resilient, and compliant platforms.
This position requires someone who can independently solve complex technical challenges, drive automation efforts, and take ownership of initiatives from design through production deployment. Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related fields

• Advanced hands‑on experience supporting AWS‑based production environments

• Expertise with Terraform and/or OpenTofu for Infrastructure as Code

• Strong experience deploying, operating, and securing Kubernetes environments

• Experience working with Docker and/or Podman

• Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible

• Strong CI/CD pipeline experience using Jenkins and related technologies

• Proficiency with Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages

• Experience implementing infrastructure security controls including:

• Vulnerability management

• Secrets management

• System hardening

• Least‑privilege access

• Logging and monitoring

• Experience troubleshooting complex cloud, infrastructure, networking, and application issues

• Strong communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills

• Ability to work independently and drive technical initiatives from concept through production

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with Packer and automated image‑building solutions
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code testing frameworks such as Terratest, Pester, or similar tools
• Experience designing and securing enterprise CI/CD pipelines
• Strong GitHub and Jenkins experience
• Experience working in highly regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare, or other compliance‑focused industries
• Familiarity with security frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST 800‑53
• Experience implementing Kubernetes security and container‑hardening controls
• Experience integrating AI‑assisted development tools into engineering workflows while maintaining security and governance standards

What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities 100% Hands‑On Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain secure AWS infrastructure and platform services
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and OpenTofu
• Support AWS networking, identity, compute, storage, and Kubernetes environments
• Build automation solutions using Ansible, Python, Bash, and related tools
• Deploy, operate, and secure containerized platforms using Kubernetes and Docker
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment reliability and efficiency
• Implement cloud security best practices across infrastructure, containers, and deployment pipelines
• Develop automated testing and validation processes for infrastructure code
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production platform issues
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering standards development
• Partner with security and governance teams to ensure compliance, risk management, and operational excellence
• Leverage AI‑assisted engineering tools responsibly to improve development, testing, and automation processes
