A leading alternative investment and financial services organization is seeking a DevSecOps Staff Engineer to help shape and scale its cloud infrastructure, security operations, and platform engineering capabilities. This is a highly visible technical leadership role responsible for establishing DevSecOps best practices, driving cloud governance initiatives, and building secure, scalable infrastructure that enables efficient software delivery across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines deep AWS expertise with a strong background in infrastructure automation, cloud architecture, CI/CD engineering, and security-first operational practices. This role will work closely with engineering, cybersecurity, and technology leadership teams to create a modern, reliable, and highly automated cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
• Lead the development and evolution of cloud architecture standards, deployment frameworks, and operational best practices.
• Build and support containerized and serverless environments to improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Develop reusable infrastructure patterns that enable consistent and secure deployments across teams.
• Design, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support secure and efficient software delivery.
• Establish deployment automation standards that improve release quality and reduce operational risk.
• Develop self-service tooling and platform capabilities that enhance developer productivity.
• Drive standardization of development, testing, and deployment workflows across engineering teams.

DevSecOps & Security Automation

• Implement security controls directly into software delivery pipelines.
• Develop automated vulnerability scanning, compliance monitoring, and remediation workflows.
• Partner with security teams to support governance requirements, audit readiness, and control validation.
• Promote a security-first engineering culture through automation, policy enforcement, and technical guidance.

Cloud Governance & Operational Excellence

• Define and enforce cloud governance standards, cost management practices, and architectural guardrails.
• Monitor cloud utilization and identify opportunities for optimization and operational improvements.
• Establish infrastructure policies that support compliance, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve platform maturity.

Monitoring & Reliability Engineering

• Design and implement observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and incident response capabilities.
• Drive operational excellence through proactive monitoring and automation initiatives.
• Establish metrics and dashboards that provide visibility into platform health and service performance.

Technical Leadership

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to define infrastructure strategy and technical direction.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud architecture, platform engineering, and DevSecOps practices.
• Mentor engineers and provide guidance on infrastructure design, automation, security, and operational excellence.
• Influence technology standards and architectural decisions across multiple teams and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing and managing enterprise AWS environments.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent platforms.
• Deep knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker and cloud-native container orchestration solutions.
• Experience building and supporting serverless architectures and event-driven applications.
• Strong CI/CD pipeline design and administration experience.
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps methodologies, security automation, vulnerability management, and compliance controls.
• Experience implementing cloud governance, cost optimization, and operational best practices.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and modern software delivery practices.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable infrastructure and platform solutions.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within financial services, asset management, investment management, fintech, or other regulated industries.
• Cloud certifications and advanced AWS credentials.
• Experience supporting audit, compliance, and governance initiatives.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, IT controls, and operational risk management.
• Background developing enterprise platform engineering or internal developer platform capabilities.
• Experience defining standards, frameworks, and technical direction across engineering organizations.
