Job summary

Talon Professional Services seeks a Sr. DevOps Engineer to build and maintain secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines across on-premises and AWS environments in a fast-paced financial services setting.

You will help transition monolithic architectures to microservices, implement automation, and ensure high availability with strong security controls and telemetry tooling.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in DevOps or SRE in high-traffic production environments.
  • Experience with multi-region cloud infrastructure and cost optimization.
  • Strong automation, cloud infrastructure, and security mindset.
  • Proficient in IaC and modern CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and维护 scalable CI/CD pipelines across on-prem and cloud environments.

Job description

Join a leading organization within the financial services sector as a Sr. DevOps Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in developing and maintaining scalable, secure CI/CD pipelines across on-premise and AWS environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with innovative teams to support high-traffic financial transaction systems, ensuring reliability, security, and operational excellence. Required Skills:
  • Advanced expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible for managing complex multi-region cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes management (EKS, AKS), including cluster hardening, service meshes, and custom controllers.
  • Strong experience designing scalable, self-healing pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins supporting GitOps workflows.
  • Deep architectural knowledge of AWS and Azure, focusing on cost optimization, security, compliance, and high availability.
  • Leadership in implementing comprehensive telemetry using ELK stack, Grafana, or Datadog for system health monitoring.
  • Proven experience in transitioning monolithic architectures to microservices and integrating automated security measures within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as SAST/DAST, HashiCorp Vault, and IAM policy enforcement.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, SonarQube, Fortify, Blackduck, Xray, along with AWS native tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams in an Agile environment.
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Deep expertise in AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Certified Kubernetes or Docker certifications.
  • Programming skills in Python, Go, or Ruby for developing custom automation and APIs.
  • Extensive experience with Linux system administration, network protocols, and kernel tuning.
  • Knowledge of modern security practices, including SOC 2 compliance and encryption standards.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering Technology, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in DevOps or SRE roles managing high-traffic production environments.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, NC.
  • Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
  • Availability to start within two weeks of offer acceptance.
  • Willingness to partake in security assessments and adhere to protocol standards.
