Job summary

CAC I is seeking a Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and manage Linux-based OpenShift/Kubernetes environments for a mission-critical platform. You will automate provisioning with Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform, and enforce security best practices across on-prem hardware.

The role is on-site in Sterling, VA with up to 25% travel to customer sites. You will mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional efforts to deliver reliable, secure systems.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 10+ years IT/engineering with 3+ years DevOps/Platform Engineering.
• Expert level Linux administration (RedHat).
• Deployment of OpenShift or Kubernetes on-premise.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform).
• Strong communication and project leadership skills.
• Meet and maintain DoD 8140 certification requirements (Security+ or better).
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy hardware platforms with both OpenShift clusters and single-application servers.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration (Puppet, Ansible).
• Enforce infrastructure security best practices.
• Prepare technical documentation and support program reviews.
• Lead and support cross-functional team activities.
• Mentor junior engineers
