Job summary

CACI in Sterling, VA is seeking a Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to support Space Force mission readiness. The role covers Linux system administration, IaC, containerization, and OpenShift/Kubernetes deployments on on-prem hardware.

You will design, implement, and automate infrastructure, mentor junior engineers, and ensure security best practices while coordinating across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• At least 10 years IT/engineering with 3+ years DevOps/Platform Engineering.
• Expert level knowledge of Linux administration, specifically RedHat.
• Deployment of OpenShift or other Kubernetes clusters to on-premise hardware.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform).
• Strong communication and project leadership skills.
• Meet and maintain DoD 8140 certification requirements (Security+ or better).
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy hardware platforms with both OpenShift clusters and single-application servers.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration (Puppet, Ansible).
• Enforce infrastructure security best practices.
• Prepare technical documentation and support program reviews.
• Lead and support cross-functional team activities.
• Mentor junior engineers
