Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to stand up and operate a bare-metal OpenShift container platform. You will drive IaC provisioning with Terraform and Ansible, and compare OpenShift against Spectro Cloud while supporting DoD security requirements.

The role allows occasional telework with the condition of being within 50 miles of a listed U.S. location, including Arlington, VA. You will manage lifecycle, monitoring, and platform services in a cybersecurity-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Hands-on OpenShift on bare metal installations.
• DoD security: active clearance and SIPR access required.

Responsibilities

• Stand up and operate bare-metal OpenShift clusters.
• Design IaC provisioning with Terraform and Ansible.
• Assess OpenShift vs Spectro Cloud feasibility and tradeoffs.
• Manage OpenShift lifecycle: install, upgrades, patching, scaling.
• Deploy core platform services and ensure security compliance.
