Job summary

Wealthfront is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Devops team to blend system administration and software engineering to build and maintain infrastructure software powering our data centers and products.

You will work on automation, on‑call reliability, internal tooling, and travel to Bay Area or New Jersey centers as needed, mentoring juniors, and shaping the evolution of our infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience running and troubleshooting modern Linux systems in production.
• 6+ years of experience developing reliable production‑grade software in Java, Go, or similar languages.
• Proficiency with automation technologies such as Terraform, Chef, or Puppet.
• Designed and deployed mission‑critical distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain core infrastructure by automating deployment and configuring services.
• On‑call triage and post‑mortems to improve reliability and prevent incidents.
• Design, implement, and deploy internal tools to boost engineering productivity.
• Assist with data center server hardware and onsite projects as needed.
• Contribute to infrastructure evolution decisions.
• Mentor junior team members.
