Job summary

Wealthfront is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Devops Platform team in San Francisco. You will blend Linux system administration with software engineering to build and maintain infrastructure and core services across data centers and the cloud.

You will automate deployment, triage operational issues, design internal tools, and collaborate with engineers to improve reliability. On-call duties and occasional travel to Bay Area or New Jersey data centers are part of the role.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Science or an Engineering field.
Experience with running and troubleshooting modern Linux systems in production.
2+ years of production-grade software development in Java, Go, or similar languages.
Proficiency with at least one automation technology (Terraform, Chef, Puppet).
Experience designing and deploying distributed systems.
Strong communication and learning orientation.

Responsibilities

Maintain core infrastructure by writing software to automate deployment and manage critical services such as databases.
Triage and fix operational issues in Linux environments as an on-call engineer; contribute to post-mortems and prevention measures.
Design, implement, and deploy internal tools to accelerate engineering productivity and enable ownership of operations.
Assist in managing server hardware and travel to Bay Area or New Jersey data centers for onsite projects.
Participate in evolution decisions for our infrastructure.
