Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking aSenior DevOps Engineer to drive faster, more reliable software delivery. You will bridge development and operations, automate pipelines, and enhance observability across OpenShift/Kubernetes environments, supporting the intel customer in St.

Louis, MO and Springfield, VA. You will implement infrastructure as code, write Python/Bash tooling, and contribute to security and documentation efforts while collaborating with cross-functional teams on

Qualifications

• 6+ years of directly related experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or related field, or 2 additional years of IT experience
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems
• Working experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar)
• Knowledge of OIDC/OAuth/Auth2 or similar zero-trust identity implementations
• Experience with ArgoCD and GitOps style operations management
• Experience with web server management (DNS, certificate management)
• Knowledge of HTTP API design standards and best practices
• Ability to manage networking for web applications (TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and OpenShift, with knowledge of AWS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, OpenShift, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Knowledge of monitoring/logging and security for containers
• Experience deploying databases and working with SQL/ORMs
• Python and Bash scripting for tooling
• Ability to contribute code updates to repositories
• Experience designing software architecture and security integration
• TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph

• Configure CI/CD for multiple web applications
• Build applications from source code and dependencies
• Perform automated testing and security scans
• Deploy to Dev, Staging, and Operations environments
• Manage Infrastructure as Code and configuration management
• Author Helm charts for OpenShift deployments
• Ensure system security through updates and documentation
• Provide input for technical documentation and user manuals
• Develop enterprise cloud solutions and architectures
• Create and refine software designs and architecture diagrams
• Integrate security components with applications and databases
• Prepare progress reports for management and customers
